New in Town

Sirens Cafe

Reviewed by Nicole Pizzurro

This ambitious establishment appears to have come to the fork in the road and taken all the paths. The quality, however, is surprisingly good at this combination microbrewery, flower shop and make-your-own-pizza joint. The salad bar features a variety of fresh vegetables (although the dressings are placed at the beginning of the line instead of the end and are in bottles instead of easy-to-use containers with ladles).

The menu also includes a make-your-own-taco bar and a variety of sandwiches with a do-it-yourself condiment table. The turkey sandwiches are made of moist, fresh chunks of Thanksgiving-style turkey, while the ham is cut in thick slabs. The restaurant also features a small bar with more than 20 bottles of wine and champagne and many local premium beers on tap, including its very own microbrew, made at an undisclosed location. Customers can enjoy light guitar music during lunch, while a live jazz trio performs every Thursday night. The tables are centered around a large wooden dance floor, should the groove beckon.

10100 S. De Anza Blvd., Cupertino (408/255-0888).
