[whitespace] SFupernatural The Vanishing

By Mark Ewert

Cody forrest, a good person who interacts with his reading material and doesn't just consume it mindlessly like the rest of you, writes:

"This weekend I was with my girlfriend. We had spent the day in Golden Gate Park, and were walking back home from Stowe Lake, heading toward the De Young Museum. About halfway between the lake and the museum, I noticed a statue that depicted a mother and her two little children. The mother is reaching out to the kids with a very sad and distressed look on her face. On the base of the statue, there are cow skulls on each corner.

"My girlfriend, Maureen, told me that this is a sort of memorial for the mother and kids. I asked her why--like, 'How is this statue important?' It's not even signed or marked and is actually kind of scary. Maureen told me that the real mother had been playing with her children in the park, and when she turned away for a second the kids vanished. The mother spent the rest of her life looking for the kids. She never gave up, and she never found them.

"Then Maureen said that the ghost of the mother stops passing motorists and asks if they have seen her children. When the drivers say no, she vanishes. Also, on some nights the children cannot be seen on the statue. They vanish--all over again."
