Grand Style

[whitespace] Clothing for the adept

By Heidi Pollock

Say they've got your house surrounded, you've less than an hour to make your escape and you forgot to pack: Grand on Grant Street.

Precious knits, roomy jeans and well-executed suits are offered alongside exotic mesh T-shirts. Grand is home to SF's KPP label, whose discerning eye for detail is evidenced in this season's shirts and sweaters for both genders sporting meticulous buttons and whimsical trims. Also in stock are "Waxwear" work jackets, Sunhee Moon's creamy, knit halter dresses and a trove of unique accessories.

Usually describing a store as having "a little bit of everything" is code for saying it offers lifeless, confused, cross-purpose clothing. Well, Grand does offer a little bit of everything, but it's the one-stop destination of your daydream escapes. Whether you need to build a new personae or embellish the one you already have, it helps to know who you are before you go in. But isn't that always the case?
