Watcha Tour

By David Espinoza

Not since the early '90s Lollapalooza tours went the way of the dodo, and were replaced by genre-specific tours (Ozzfest, WARPED), has there been a better variety of music than the Watcha Tour. Never mind that most of the acts sing in Spanish (Kool Keith will be in attendance), the music being brought in from Mexico, Argentina, and other Latin American countries (including the United States) will be as different as Nine Inch Nails are from They Might Be Giants. Of course, Nine Inch Nails never wrote a song as catchy as Molotov's controversial hit "Puto," and big-bass 'n' booty crew Latin Froz might seem a better fit for a Low Rider festival, but this is all how Watcha does it--so watch out. (Pictured is Molotov.)

September 9; 6pm; Event Center at San Jose State, San Jose; $27.75.
